Lie vs. Truth

If you have not read any of my other post let me encourage you to read this one!

I will start off by saying that I am not perfect, I am a sinner, I fall short more often than not, BUT I have been saved by the King and I am thankful that my God forgives.

***This past summer I started a Bible Study on "Lies Young Women Believe"... basically this book gives you a lies about different things in life and then it backs it up with the Truth, scripture.

Monday morning I was driving back to school scanning the radio (like I do almost every time I get in my car) when I started listening to a lady who had called in her story on the radio and was seeking advice. She starts off by saying that she and her boyfriend have been dating and living together and sleeping together for over three years and he has yet to meet her family. Finally they decide it is time for him to meet everyone so they have a "get together" at her parent's home.
When they arrived she walked in the door to find her aunt standing in the living room with a shocked look on her face. She turned to her mom and her mom was crying saying "Where did you find him?"... Eventually her mom took her to the bathroom and explained to her that when she was a teenager she went to a party and ended up pregnant with her and that the man she had been dating for three years was her father. They have a DNA test and it comes back 99.7% positive that he is the father but she thinks that since she didn't know and she loves this man that it is okay that she continues the boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.
The radio host tells this young girl that before she knew that it was her father there "ain't no sin committed, ain't nothing wrong, everything is good".. but now that she knows that it is her father she should not continue the relationship.

I tell you all of this to tell you that the world is full of lies. You cannot listen to everything you hear on the radio, television, etc. and just assume that it is true. After listening to this story I thought to myself "That is a LIE!!.. Ephesians 5:3 says "There must be no sexual sin among you..."
I am thankful that I am learning to catch lies of this world and replace them with the TRUTH!!!

"So run away from sexual sin. Every other sin people do is outside their bodies, but those who sin sexually sin against their own bodies. You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit who is in you. You have received the Holy Spirit from God. So you do not belong to yourselves, because you were bought by God for a price. So honor God with your bodies."- 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."- Romans 12:2
